Working on the Aria

Frosty – minus 14 this morning and the car had a little trouble starting. It’s brilliantly sunny, the snow is crisp, and it’s actually a gorgeous day!

I’m still fighting with the newest aria for the Easter Cantata. I’m trying to follow the trail of my first inspiration and not revise absolutely everything. It’s surprisingly difficult when I’m tired not to just throw everything out and start again. Right now, I’m struggling with the end of it – I can see where Jesus and Mary could have a lovely duet, but I’m running out of words, as I’m using only what Jesus is recorded as having said. A very interesting and frustrating challenge.
