Finishing the Cantata

The snow melted all away, even though it looked like it was going to be here until spring. Now, tiny snowflakes have started up, and it’s minus 4 celsius – it really feels like winter is beginning.

I’ve been keeping my nose down to the grindstone, trying to finish off a fair copy of the Easter Cantata. I have a couple of singers interested in it, and I want to get it to them by the end of the week. I had thought it was as finished as it was going to be, but going back over it to check the layout, I found a couple of improvements to make. Obviously, I could continue rewriting it forever – it’s a large enough subject and a large enough piece. But the goal of getting it to the singers is giving me firm boundaries. So back to work!
